Do you like him??

I received a gorgeous crochet package in the mail today for Grace. I hope to take a photo of her wearing it tomorrow. I'm up too late again! Bye Leah

I went into an antique store today to collect some forms to fill in for a craft stall next weekend and came out with a little bag of what the lady called "findings". I love crochet

http://http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=15439514 I love these, I've also purchased some crochet face/dishcloths from etsy, I can't get enough of them, I really should try to crochet some myself! have a great weekend! Leah

A big old bedspread

yesterday I took the kids for a picnic lunch at the playground and we visited some second hand stores. We found this old bedspread, it has many of these roses on it and lots of other patterns. Harry couldn't believe that I gave the lady all the money from my purse for a dirty old bedspread, he wanted an icecream!! It's huge, I soaked it in the bath overnight and my husband had to lift it out for me, so heavy! The lady said that she had lots more packed in boxes, I almost begged her for a look, (with my almost non existent voice!!) but she said no it was to difficult to get them all out, I gave her my phone number, I really hope that she phones me one day as these are becoming very difficult to find in Australia. I'll post some etsy favourites tomorrow, thanks for visiting! Leah

Sandies card sketch challenge week 3

here is my card created for Sandie's challenge this week. I have been busy creating a custom order for my Etsy shop, I need some more orders now, not that I'm looking for things to do!! Have a great day! Leah

Not much news

I thought that I'd show you this today, my lastest page published in Scrapbook Creations, not sure of the edition No. but it was just recently. Toby is still my little cuddly boy!

I plan to do Sandie's card sketch today. The link is there on my side bar. I'm feeling too lazy to add the link right here! It's school holidays, I have lost my voice and can hardly speak at all, it is very frustrating with 4 kids!! I hope to back tomorrow with a card pic to share. Bye!

A Sunny Sunday

Well this was Saturday night! An aussie outdoor barbie at our house.

We had a great time at the craft market today, didn't sell a quilt but came sooo close several times, so maybe next time. the next market will be when our district has a huge country music festival so there are always loads of visitors to our town. It was such a lovely day and we sold all of our lavender heat packs again, some purses and some cushions and toys! Everybody loved Gracie in her little chenille dress and one lady said that Grace was an extremely spoilt child to be wearing a dress like that!! I found another fantastic blog tonight, check THIS out! http://sugarose.wordpress.com/2008/09/21/featured-store-vintage-chenille-etsy/ I hope that you had a great Sunday, thanks so much for stopping by! Leah

Friday favourites revisited!

Etsy :: Sugarpinkmoon :: A Little Bit Blue Vintage Paper Doll Dress with Greeting Card CSST Ok here is my other Friday favourite, it was here Friday, then I lost it! Another gorgeous girl!

Miss Ava is Miss M's little sister (from the previous scrapbooking post) She has grown so much since this photo was taken, I must scrap another page of her soon! I don't know how, but my post of favourites for Friday has disappeared after all that work trying to post it here!! I will try again before next Friday. We are having a craft market stall tomorrow, wish us luck! Thanks for visiting, Leah

Go Koorlong!

Hi, we had a big day at the combined school sports yesterday and Harry's school won! A great effort for a country school with less than 40 students! Harry came 2nd in the shot put but I didn't get a photo! Here is my latest page for the craft queen Gallery. This is my gorgeous niece Mackenzie, we are off to have lunch with her today. Enjoy your Thursday! Leah

more of our Gracie

She is eating and she has 2 teeth! I've scrapped a page for Craft Queen I will share that tomorrow, we are all off to the school sports today with a picnic lunch. Leah

Colours of spring - hot pink

"Spring colours" are always considered to be pastels, aren't they? Not so at my place! Looking around me all I can see are vivid hot pinks, intense yellows, deep and moody blues and of course vivid green growth everywhere.

Here are some of my favourite hot pink photos from yesterday:
Pink socks on the line
Pink silver beet
Pink polyanthus
Pink buds on Miss Rose Chiffon (promises, promises)
Pink oxalis
Pink collaged magnet, flowers and ribbon scraps
Pink pincushion
Pink polys and pansies
Pink crochet thread
Pink magnolias
Pink weird lilies (these last two were taken at the botanic gardens a week or two ago)
Pink buttons (spilt hearts)

Yes, it IS spring and there's not a bunny or duckie in sight. What are your favourite spring pictures?

2 cards

I created 2 cards last night, this one because I have a thing about pom pom trim at the moment, and I just love that flower trim from Nicole at Craft Queen. The other I quickly created for Sandie's weekly challenge, which can be viewed here Have a happy Tuesday! Leah

She loves her cat

190 x 115 mm

This one felt like it took months to complete. Probably because I started off with a completely different concept and then changed to this when it didn't work out. I have been working hard though (evidence below!) and I've even started on the next painting.

PS. You can click on these photos to see them bigger.

Memory Quilts

Etsy :: Nelliej13 :: Breast Cancer Memory Quilt remembering Rachel RESERVED ITEM a few people have asked me if I create memory quilts. I haven't created one before, I'm planning to. Our boys love quilts, the laundry cupboard is overflowing with old jeans and flanelette PJs which the boys no longer use, my intention is to create a quilt with them, one day! I did a search and found this, I love it so much but it makes me sad. The creator of this quilt is lovely and said she was happy for me to post the quilt here. Have a great Monday! Leah

A cute giveaway!

Designs by Vanessa: My First Birdie/Hootie Blog Giveaway! here is a cute little giveaway, drop in and enter!

It IS spring!

It's spring, and here's proof! Daffodils are blooming and blossom is blossoming. The first of September was sunny and warm, and ideal for a walk beside the river.

Or a paddle and a piece of bread, if you felt so inclined.

How pretty is this little spot? I want to step into this photo and disappear forever!

I don't know what this flower is, but I like it. One of these days I want a rock garden of my very own, filled with tiny alpines and miniature bulbs.

That was just over a week ago. The weather since then has been unsettled, mostly cold and a fair bit rainy. But spring is here, I promise!
